Tonight's Lonely Planet - The Neighborhoods of Paris

8:00 PM EST on the Travel Channel.

I imagine this is a rerun. Has anyone seen it?

Hey, Brian in Atlanta. No, haven't seen it but definitely will watch.

Aren't you coming to N.O. in a few weeks? Did you see my post about Peristyle burning down?

If it's the one hosted by Justine, I think I've seen it. Entertaining, but not a whole lot of Paris in it.

Meg: Yes, I did see it. Thanks for the update. Guess we'll have to find another cute place to go Thursday night (e-mail me if you have any suggestions - similar to Peristyle - that haven't been mentioned before).

Sera, you're right, there wasn't much about Paris. When she went to EuroDisney I almost turned it off. Why can't they do a show and visit all the places I'm interested in?

It's a sign, Brian: you need your own show.

I missed it. Please let us know when this will come on again. I'm missing Paris already. Funny, now I seem to look for French films on the IFC on cable. I saw this film this past Sunday with William Hurt and Juliette Binoche. A shrink and a French lady exchanged apartments. Wow ... I have it bad for Paris. Quoting the famous philosopher Arnold Schwarzenegger (sic),
"I'll be back."
Brian let us know when this will show again.

Does anyone know if the Travel Channel has ever shown an "Amazing Destinations" show on Paris? Just curious after Brian's comments. Rick Steves' shows on Paris cover many of the main tourist sites. Georgia, the Travel Channel has a web site at www.travelchannel.com. You can see the schedule by date or by program (eg., Lonely Planet or Amazing Destinations). They should do a show with Ian in Paris (or maybe Brian and Ian together).

Yeah, Ian would probably do it justice. I imagine I'd have a hard time keeping up with him, though.

Since it seems unlikely that anyone's going to do a show focusing on my Parisien interests, I guess I'll have to get off of my couch and make the trip myself. Oh bother.
