TomTom Go 920 - HELP

So I have purchased a TomTom GO 920 and it came loaded with US and European maps. I have been playing with it the last couple of months just to get the feel of it and how to program in Favorites and stuff like that.

I basically am having little to no problems. I have already entered the addresses of every hotel I will be staying at in France and Italy and added them to my favorites list. Along with addresses of some of the places I know I will be going to as well as some of the sights so that when I am walking around I just punch up the favorite that I am wanting to go to and it will give me either walking or driving directions.

So far, So good...

Now...the tough part... I am wanting to load on some of my audio books that people have given me and I have not yet had the opportunity to listen to yet. I though for the flight over and back and maybe while driving long distances, since the TomTom can go thru the radio, I thought it would be nice to load on some of my books but I am having didfficulty in loading them on.

It seems it will only let me load on books that I purchase from Audible Inc.

I see no point in purchasing more books when I already have several.

Does anyone know how I can load on my OWN books or is it impossible and I just need to bring my cd player. I was hoping to avoid that.

Anyone have any ideas for quick fixes here?

Thanks,

If buying books from Audible is a requirement, and it wasn't disclosed on the outside of the box, I'd take it back for a refund.

I don't put up with that kind of crap.

Your right Robespierre, neither do I usually.

Unfortuneatly I purchased off ebay a couple months ago. I did contact the guy but I should have read the box but guess what...it's not on the box. No where does it say the audiobooks was a proprietary item to Audible Inc. If I had known that I would not have purchased it. I hate that crap too that ties you to one thing and one thing only. It really sucks.

I was just hoping someone knew of a way to transfer audio file to SD into a folder and then get my TomTom to recognize it.

I think it's pretty s_itty thing to do to people once they bought their product they are sorta stuck.

Bummer

You may have a space issue. When you load the updates from TomTom, it can get pretty full. Are you putting a card in? Maybe you could load the card with your audio books and read off the card?

The battery life isn't great without plugging in to a car lighter, an IPOD might be a better choice for audio books.

I'm interested in hearing how it works out. I might get some ideas for my TomTom Go 920.

I have not tried putting one on a SD card yet.

I was told it wouldn't work.

I asked here and they said it can't be done.
