Tomorrow Landing in London - "Expect delays of up to 12 hours...

at Immigration!

"Delays" ???

Yeh the most comprehensive national strike in 30 years says today's New York Times which also says to expect delays of up to 12 hours at Immigration.

Why do they just not close down international flights?

Why produce a mob scene?

What is wrong with the BAA?

And it is all David Cameron's fault!

It has nothing to do with BAA.

How do you propose they close down all flights?
All that would do is move the chaos elsewhere.

This topic is covered in at least two other threads.

Why not just re-route the 160,000 international passengers flying into London tomorrow to AMS or CDG instead? From there, they can continue onward or even arrive train to London in much less than 12 hours.

exactly bardo - why invite the chaos at London airports unless the government wanted to move in more folks to at least quickly sort thru incoming arrivals - speeding obvious non-threatening types like Americans thru and not instead have them waiting to up to 12 hours in queue?

The strikers are boosting Cameron's position by making themselves unpopular with the British public, as in Thatcher's time. Things are bad enough here without recreating that turn of events.
