toll road cost

Just how pricey are the road tolls in France? We are considering driving from Paris to the Dordogne and Provence.

You can price the tolls for any journey (and get a full itinerary calculated for you as well) at the French autoroute website http://www.autoroutes.fr/index.php?lng=2

Hi Judy;

My experience over the last 2 or 3 years in both France and Italy has been that tolls seem to average about 10 cents (U.S.) per mile on autostradas, etc. Worth it if you you want to get from point A to Point B quickly.
Hope this helps. Chet

Hi

They are pretty expensive.
I drive a diesel car and tolls in France cost more than fuel.
Prices vary, but I'd base your calculations on Euro 5 / 100 kms.

Peter
http://tlp.netfirms.com

The Dordogne-Provence leg alone is something like $20-$30, depending of course on where you get on and off.

Take an extra day from Paris to the Dordogne, the Dordogne to the Provence, etc. Avoid the toll roads and enjoy the scenery.

You are flying to Paris and I assume staying there a few days paying for a hotel and eating fine foods and your concerned with TOLLS!!!!!!!
Take the back roads and visit small villages
