Toll on West Link Bridge

I noticed that when you drive from the airport going south according to my directions you go on the West Link Bridge(Toll). How much is this toll and how does it work?

I don't remember precisely:it's about €1.80 for a car. Two ways to pay: if you have the correct change, you can choose a lane with a coin basket and toss in the money, which will cause the barrier to lift; if you don't have correct change, you can choose a lane with a cashier, tender a larger amount, and get change. (There is an automated pass also, but you won't get that on a hire car).

Yes, it's a nightmare. But it is difficult for somebody who does not know Dublin to find another route to the south. Most other routes are pretty bad, too. The solution is not to cross the city.
