Toledo hotels

Can anyone recommend a moderately-priced, well-located hotel in Toledo? Does anyone know the Hostal del Cardenal?

There are two leading moderate priced hotels in Toledo. The Hostal del Cardenal outside in old town and the Pintor el Greco inside. The choice boils down to location. With no car, staying in town is far more convenient.

Toledo is not rich in hotels. We stayed at Hostal del Cardenal. It was ok but not great, but I'm not sure anything else in Toledo is better.

We stayed at the Pintor el Greco and it was ideally located. The parking was difficult, but the hotel offered some help. If you stay here, talk to the people at the front desk before you exhaust yourself looking for a place for the car.

Three of us stayed at Hostal Descalzos, 33 de los Descalzos, Ph/fax 22-28-88 a couple of years ago.

It was a wonderful small hotel near Casa del Greco, desk clerks spoke limited English, and helped us find a place to park. Our room (#22, it was down 1 flight of stairs) here was lovely and large, with color TV w/remote, full bath w/tub, 3 beds, and a wonderful view from our room of gardens/fountain. It was very quiet and very inexpensive, about $47 for the triple.

It was close enough to walk every place.

Have a great trip,
Sandy
