To visit Palazzo Farnese
For anybody interested in visiting the Palazzo Farnese (French Embassy) in Rome, here's what you need to do. Send a letter to:
Servizio Culturale dell?Ambasciata Francese, Piazza Farnese 67,
Roma 00186,
Italia
In your letter, specify the number of people visiting and your desired visiting date/time, contact number (both the one at home and while you're in Rome). I included my e-mail address for a faster response.
In two weeks, they replied me via e-mail. Unfortunately, they informed me that they are open for visits only on Mondays and Thursdays at 16:00 and 17:00. No visits on holidays and during summers from July 20th to September 6th.

Thanks for this info...I didn't have to do any of that when I was there last September (staying in adjacent Campo dei Fiori area). I just walked over to the French Embassy in Rome (Palazzo Farnese) one afternoon mid-week and was allowed in to see its fabulous art, architecture of the building, interior, etc. Perhaps for larger, more organized groups they require this process. The embassy building is imposing, elegant, regal and the surrounding piazza/square with its 2 fountains has some good ristorantes and cafes adjacent as well.

O.k.,it seems like we're just all trying to make you envious, but I toured P.F. last year, and it was a delight.I had it arranged through Context Rome. They do this a couple of times a year,I believe.I've booked lots of walking tours with them,so they went out of their way to make it happen. It's worth a shot, especially if you're also a customer!

By the way, our Italian friend told us that it is open for the "White Night" which I believe is in early September this year. He and other friends went to Palazzo Farnese last year on that night.
