to stansted in the EARLY morning
We have a 6:40a.m. flight out of Stansted on Ryan Air and need to get there from Marriott Marble Arch. The train does not get to Stansted in time so it looks like we will have to take a bus. Would leaving at around 4:00a.m. and getting to Stansted at around 5:15a.m. give us enough time to get through security and checked in at that time of morning? Will traffic really be that bad that early? Where should we catch the bus? Ryan Air allows 15kg of checked luggage per person.I presume 2 people can take one suitcase that weighs 30kg? Thanks for any answers to all these questions!

I would recommend a driver. Eddie Manning is good. Search here on "manning". I took a 6:50 flight last week and Stansted was packed wirh lines to Ryanair counters at 4:55.
I would recommend a lightweight duffel to divide up clothes to get you closer to 15 kg each (10 and 20 respectively each would be ok).
Best wishes,
Rex

Thanks Rex, Do you remember how much the Manning car was? I've heard that Ryan Air closes their ticket counter at 40 minutes until flight time. I would presume that as long as you are in their ticket line by that time you will be OK. Did you have any trouble getting through the line and onto the plane?
Thanks again,

I think you need to have made it THROUGH the line and TO the COUNTER before 40 minutes before. I would ask a driver to have you there by 5, for a 6:40 flight.
I do not rememebr how much Eddie charges; we were a pretty good size group (11), in two vehicles - - it might have been about 80-100 USD per vehicle.

If you're flying out on the weekend and do plan on taking public transportation make sure the buses leave that early. I think the schedule is cut back on the weekends and might not leave early enough to make your flight. Check it out just in case.
