Hi, my husband and I will be holidaying in Japan and Europe for 3 weeks in April. We are leaving our 4 year old princess at home with grandparents. It is so normal to be worried about missing your children, maybe even selfish sounding to some, but I understand that you need some time together as a couple. My husband recently beat cancer and we need some time to ourselves in a different environment. We have also agonised!!! Children mean the world to their parents but your marriage is the most important thing of all. Have a wonderful trip and just imagine that after the great time you will have in europe you will have a fantastic reunion to look forward to. R.

If you can find the thread where you read something by Kaz11, then you can post to her there..
It really is sort of the point, that when one posts something on Fodors, that it make sense to the rest of the people posting here.
There have been attempts at contact with other posters in this way and it seems sort of unfair to have private messages going on a public forum.
We all want to add our two bits :D

Thanks for the link to that thread. This is the first time I have posted on Fodors and am unsure of the correct protocol. But with helpful advice I am sure I will learn quickly. Thankyou again. Ruby

Thankyou RubyJane for your reassuring words.

There is still not a day that goes by that I don't reconsider taking the kids, but we do really need some time together, and I think this will be best for everyone.

It's nice to know that there are other caring parents out there who understand what I am going through.

I keep reminding myself that they will be with loving family, and having fun for the most part. There's also email, phonecalls,and webcam which we'll use everyday I'm sure and we'll definitely look forward to the big reunion when we get home.

We will have a wonderful trip, and I hope RubyJane that you and your husband also enjoy your much needed holiday in April.
