To anyone who watched the Discovery Channel special on Pompeii...

Is this movie to violent for kids to watch? We recorded it, and thought it would be a good bit of history for our kids, and also to show them where we will be visiting in June. But we didn't want them to have nightmares! Thanks!

I watched ;most of it, having visited Pompeii a few years ago and depending on the age of the children, it should be very informative. Of course when you do visit, you do view some of the remains as they are preserved in cases and most interesting. Hard to believe but it did happen and I suppose could again. I would think the kids would do just fine, it is, after all, history. Have a good day. halfpint

there is nothing gory or disturbing about the film per se, except that many of the 'characters' in the film do die

Do show it, my dear, children need to know the background of where you are going. they will have many questions on your return. What fun.

Thanks to everyone. We live near Mt. St. Helens, which erupted before my kids were born. They have lots of questions about volcanoes. This will help them understand. And I'll be sure to let them know that there are things in place now to give us fair warning when an eruption may occur!

Thank you again...
