Tips To Get Schengen Visa For Full 90 Days From Toronto For Indian Citizens
 

I am an Indian citizen and I based out of Toronto, Canada with a Canadian PR. I am planning to apply Schengen tourist visa as I plan to backpack Western Europe this Fall (Sept-Oct 2015). My dates are not fixed and I want my plan to be as flexible as possible. Please please share some of your tips.

I want the full 90 days visa as I have heard horror stories of Indians getting their visa rejected or granted just for 2 weeks etc. Which are the best consulates in terms of quick turnaround time and lenient approach (if such a thing exists) in Toronto to apply Schengan visa

Read the rules for a Schengen visa. You will have to meet all of them completely to get a visa. It won't make any difference which consulate you use. Rules are rules. Don't lie on your application or you could be in real trouble.

You must have an itinerary with every night pre-booked (not through internet-based booking sites like Booking.com and Expedia.com but directly with accommodation providers with their booking confirmation). Your visa will only be issued for the number of nights booked. You must apply to the country that is your main destination (staying the longest), and if your stay is of equal length, the first country you arrive at. If you don't keep to the rules, your application won't be accepted or will be rejected (losing all your fees).

I'm glad Alec saw your post -- it was my understanding that you can't wing it and need a firm itinerary and Alec's post confirms what I thought.

Yes, it's in Schengen visa rules for all visa nationals, with the exception of those who are family member of EEA national, who don't have to supply funding, trip and accommodation details. Those questions carry an asterisk * on visa application form. Also their visa is issued free and without undue delay.

Which is why I said OP should read the rules. It is simple enough, with no one country being easier than another. Nor does living and working in Canada have any affect on whether a visa will be granted or not.

Yes, unless a citizen of an automatic 90 day visa country you will have to follow the appropriate rules for you nationality - never mind your current location.
