Tips for short stay in Venice

I have been searching and searching for a hotel in Venice and everytime I think I have found one it ends up to be over my budget or booked. I am now wondering about going farther out from the centre of venice and was wondering how that will complicated things. we will only be in Venice for two full days and we want to go to the biennal. Not sure whether to look for a place closer to the biennal or what.

Try going through www.venere.com; it will give you prices, location and availability.

If you are willing to stay in Mestre you will have more choices at lower prices than in Venice proper. But you may already know this....

It is a very small island -- if you can find something, you will be close enough to the biennal.

Try hotel Riva, basic but very centrally located, or hotel Galleria right on the Academia bridge.
