Tips for Golf Widows
Six golfers and wives will be traveling to Ireland in early September. We will have cars while the men golf but aren't sure we want to drive! We will be visiting Mount Juliet, Cork, Killarney and Adare. Any information on the areas and public transportation. Any must sees. My husband and I are going a few days early to visit Dublin. We are staying at the Mont Clare. All help will be greatly appreciated.

I'd also like some advice, I'm going over with 2 golfers, but will be by myself when they are on the links....Ideas?

My wife told me that if I did that to her, just leave the credit cards because she would be SHOPPING!!!!! ((b))

Hey Budman,
My wife said the same thing. |
I know there are day tours by bus from Killarney (and Galway and Dublin). From Killarney, we did a Ring of Kerry tour; from Galway, one to the Burren and Cliffs of Moher, another to the Connemara region; from Dublin, one to Glendalough, another to Newgrange. My Lonely Planet Guide says there are tours of the Gap of Dunloe and Dingle Peninsula from Killarney. It's not the same experience as going on your own, but it is nice not to have to worry about driving sometimes. As soon as you arrive in a town, go to the Tourist Information Office - they'll have all the brochures (as do the hotels and most B&Bs).
