Tip the Shuttle Driver
I have arranged to have the Paris Airport Shuttle take 5 of us to our rented apartment. Is it customary to tip the driver and if so, how much would be expected?

Shirley, I don't know if it is customary or not, but I always tip them as I would a cab driver.(10-15%) They always help with the luggage and I think that they deserve a tip for their service. They are certainly most appreciative!

There are several shuttle services between the Paris airports and the city. I've used Paris Airports Service, which may or may not be the same as the service you are using. Often, the driver is one of the owners, so a tip is not necessary. A tip may be in order if you are the only group aboard, the shuttle shows up on time, and it delivers you to your destination without delay. On occasion, though, you may find that there are other riders or the pickup/delivery is late. In that case, I'd doubt that you'd want to tip. There's no rule of thumb for a tip, if you want to give one, but I'd say 5 to 10 francs per person should be adequate.

Have used the Shuttle several times, always gave tip. (think taxi driver, about 15%). They have always been helpful w/luggage and expressed their thanks when tipped.

We've used similar services, when we want the city tour (for some reason we're always the last stop, though that's not bad when you arrive early morning and can't get into your hotel). <BR>The drivers are usually pretty chatty and friendly. I always tip them, usually 10-15%. They've not refused one yet.

Is that like tipping cows?
