Timing of night lights in Paris

We are going to Paris in mid April with a sunset about 9pm (21:00) and want to take a drive through the city to see the buildings with their lights. Is there a place to find when the lights are first turned on? We understand the the Eiffel Tower is only on the 5minutes after each hour.

Merci bien,

Hi m,

>want to take a drive through the city

You want to drive through Paris at night?

Seeriously, you're planning to drive through the city to see lights? Why not walk, or take a boat cruise?

And I don't know when you'll be there, but you might want to read this:

Oh, I see you'll be there in April. The lights go on as soon as dusk falls and stay on until midnight M-F and until 1 am Sat/Sun.

Go to Tour Montparnasse to see the night lights, inducing the Eiffel Tower twinkle. Way better and easier. Or take a Seine River Cruise -

Take a Seine cruise at dusk on the Vedettes du Pont Neuf - the best way to see the lights of Paris come on. See the link above.

Last night we went out to eat in the 7th and walked there and back from our flat in the Marias. We walked along the Seine, dropping down to the waterside pathways on the way there and walked back on the Right Bank . It was so lovely with the lights on, as it always is. We happened to see the twinkling lights on the Eiffel Tower at 10pm (they are on the hour) which was a nice bonus. When you walk you get the time to enjoy it, minus the ghastly lights from the Bateau Moches shining in your face. I can't imagine anything better than walking, particularly after a nice meal.
I also like the view from the POmpidou if you happen to be there at night.
