Timeshares in northern Italy
 

Traveling to Germany on Sept 22,07 have a timeshare in southern part and want to go to northern Italy for the second week of our vacation (just me and hubby!) Has anyone stayed in a timeshare in northern Italy in the beginning of October? What are the best places to see in northern Italy? If we can't book a timeshare, does anyone have any suggestions on places to stay?

Northern Italy is a large area and quite diverse. What kind of a vacation in Italy would you like to have? Lakeside? Mountains? Food and wine? Shopping? Great art? Fun nightlife?

Mountains or lakeside doesn't matter. I would like to see Venice either on a day trip or overnight from a base area. Food and wine is a must! We love to sightsee and actually see areas that are not on your typical tourist list. We always rent a 4X4 so we can go into backroad areas. Can you be of some help? I know this is a lot, we always try to squeeze in as much as possible. (You never know when and if you will return!) :-) Thanks for any info you can provide.

I've never done a timeshare but if you want to visit Venice, then the provinces where you want to be is the Veneto.

Since you will rent a car and are coming from Germany, an area that might work very well for you is Lago di Garda

If it ends up you are not booking a timeshare, you might consider doing google searches for villas and holiday rentals in the Veneto. I'm sure you will get lots of choices for holiday rentals.

Even though Verona attracts tourists (although not as many as Venice) you might very much enjoy the town and area for it's food and wine).

Hi Dee - We've stayed in several timeshares in the Dolomites through RSI - and also in Venice Lido several times.
