Timeshare in Tarragona?
Was just able to get a week exchanged in Tarragona. Was hoping for south of France but not available. Does anyone know Tarragona and how doable is driving to the south of France from here. This is for May2003

Tarragona is a big port in Spain but thats just about all i know on the place since i am a shipbroker !
I would say that it should take about 4 hours to get to the French border.
Have a good time !!

Hi Mags
Tarragona would be about 2 1/2 hours in total. It's an hour to Barcelona then the drive from there to the border at la Jonquera another 1& 1/2 hours. So depending on where in the south of France you want to be, Perpignan is just 20 minutes down the road from the border, Montpellier about 1 1/2 - 2 hours and the Riviera a few hours. The motorway is a toll route so it's fast and you pay for this.
Just a note though that Tarragona is a lovely place to visit. with great Roman ruins, restaurants, proximity to Barcelona, good wineries to visit nearby and great historical places around.
Thanks for the input. We will actually be on a timeshare exchange for one week but would like to spend another week in the area north of Tarragona and into France. May try to find accommodations in either Perpignan or Montpellier for a couple of nights each. Is this a nice part of the French coastline.?

Is this an Interval timeshare? We too had considered the Tarragona area and then were put off by some of the comments from people on this board and others. We've decided to use our timeshare week elsewhere in Spain (Nerja to be exact).
