Timed entrance for Alhambra....could only get 19:00
Hello,
I made a last minute decision to spend the last part of my upcoming trip to Spain in the South. I'm traveling with family from Barcelona through the mountains and ending up in San Sebastián. From there we all split up. I was planning on heading to Madrid but was convinced by a friend to spend those last few days in Granada. The problem is that in order to make my connection out of Madrid, I will only have one full day in Granada. I just went online to book the entrance ticket and only 1800 and 1900 times were available. As I dithered about the 1800 option disappeared so I jumped on the 1900 before it too vanished.
Sorry about the ramble, but my question is does this only leave me with an hour to see the Nasrid Palace? What is the best way for me to plan this day so that I get the most out of it? Should I try to do a night visit? I tried booking that for the night before but it was unavailable but I heard it was easier to buy day of tickets for the night events.
Thanks so much in advance for any information or insights you might have!

If I'm reading your post right, then you ARE doing a night visit. You wrote that you bought entrance tickets for 1900. How late does the Alhambra stay open for walk thru?
If you are in Granada for the day then you tour around, see the Cathedral, walk thru the Albayzin section of town etc. Eat something before you head to the Alhambra. Bring along a bottle of water, maybe a snack if you think you might need it, as the walk around can be long. Carry something warmer to wear or layer your clothes as it is much cooler at the top and especially in the evenings.
In any event, give yourself enough time to collect your tickets at the gate before your entrance time. You can do this ahead of time but I don't see the need if you are there in good advance time. Don't be late or you won't get in!

I am presuming you have an afternoon session, starting 1400 ending 2000 hours.
'does this only leave me with an hour to see the Nasrid Palace?' - Yes.
'What is the best way for me to plan this day so that I get the most out of it?' - You have five hours prior to entry to the Nasrid. It's ten years since I visited the paid for parts. It will not be the first time the question has been asked - try 'route around the Alhambra' or similar as a google.

I believe WomBatt is correct. You can enter the Alhambra earlier in the day, but you can't enter the Nasrid Palace until the time on your ticket. If there were any slots available for the evening visit, I would encourage you to book for the evening, too.
