Time needed to connect to Milano Centrale from Milano Linate?

Hi,

My partner and I are flying from Paris Orly to Milan Linate airport on Easyjet, arriving at 12:30pm. We will go directly to Milano Centrale train station to catch a train to Monterosso. There is a direct train that leaves at 2pm and one that leaves at 4pm. Can we get from the airport to the train station in time to make the 2pm train?

Thank you!

There is bus service from Linate to Centrale, but, if you want to be sure to catch the 2:00 p.m. train (and assuming you'll have to buy tickets when you get to the station), I would take a taxi.

Urban bus line 73 runs every 10 minutes. The trip takes around 25 minutes.

Thank you both! About how much would a taxi be and how long would it take?

...about 20 minutes for about 20 euro depending on the traffic.

Isn't Milan Rogoredo station closer to Linate than Centrale? The train that departs Centrale at 2:05 stops at Rogoredo at 2:14.

A google search says it's about the same distance to Centrale v. Rogoredo, although Rogoredo might be quicker by taxi. I don't know. The airport shuttle bus is painless, but I'd still take a taxi.

Thanks everybody! How necessary is it to buy train tickets in advance? (Particularly during high tourist season. We will be there in mid-July.)

Last month we flew into Linate, intending to take a taxi to Milano Centrale. When we walked outside I noticed the bus directly across from the taxi line, doors open. We hopped on since there was a long taxi line, 5 E each, and it left a few minutes later, maybe 20 minutes. On our return to Linate we took a taxi from our hotel, 17 E, and at 6 am it was all of 10 minutes.
