time it takes to drive

My husband and I will be travelling by car from the Cote d'Azur area of France, to Bologna, Italy. We have had several conflicting reports on how long it could take to drive this distance. Is it possible to drive from, say, Aix en Provence to Genoa in one day or less, for example? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We would probably like to stop several places along the way to eat, take pictures, explore, etc.

Hi Kathy.
We drove from Avignon to Cinque Terra in one day with a few stops and turn arounds b/c we missed out turns. It was a long day but doable. (Our rode had a million tunnels which probably slowed us down A LOT and it was raining) We got times and directions from the Michelin site which would probably be your best bet to see if you really want to do this.
Happy Driving!

From Aix-en-Pce to Genoa would be a piece of cake. Less than 5 hours, straight through, though there are many good reasons to stretch it out over a week or more!

Get all the driving info you need at the website www.viamichelin.com - - very easy to use, with zoomable maps, and reliable information. The website www.mappy.com is also a useful alternative.

Best wishes,

Rex
Aix to Genoa is 230miles of Toll road driving. Shouldn't take more than 3 1/2 hours straight thru driving @ 70/mph.
