Time in Seville

Hello Fellow Fodorites. I am seeking information on Seville Spain. A group of us would like to go next February (I like to plan ahead) and I want to know if five nights is enough time to see everything as well as possible day trips to Cordoba as well as Italica. What are your thoughts on this? Also do you have any recommendations for hotel accomodations? What is the best way to get there in the least amount of time from the New York area? I appreciate all of your feedback.

First of all - excellent plan. The weather will be quite pleasant in Feb. - think Georgia or Northern Florida.

Five nights is "OK" for your trip but I would add one day if possible, so you actually have four full days in Seville.

I highly suggest Hotel Alminar. We stayed there and couldn't believe how great a value it was: perfect location, great staff, nice rooms (skip the hotel breakfast). No wonder it's #1 on TripAdvisor.

There are no non-stops from NYC to Seville, yopu'll have to transfer SOMEWHERE. Iberia Airlines is usually the cheapest option (with transfer in Madrid).

Hi dutchess; Planning ahead is my thing too. Working on August 2010. Start with great information www.marbelsguides.com/ We will be there this April. Our hotel is www.alminar.com/ This hotel is right in the old section of Seville. We will do the 'white towns, on a nine hour tour that only takes a few pepole. You can find it in the 'guide. So if you considered Cordoba for a day and the 'white towns' for another day, by the time you arrived in Seville you have two and a half days left for Seville. As far as getting there, plane to Madrid and train to Seville. [I think] Others will give you better information. iris1745/dick

I also stayed at the Hotel Alminar about a month ago and highly recommend it. Unfortunately I was only in Sevilla for two nights but I definitely would return for a longer period as there is so much to see in the city itself. I recommend the walking tours run by Concepcion that can be found at sevillawalkingtours.com and the flamenco at Casa de la Memoria - casadelamemoria.es.

Hi bardo; Thanks, I can't wait for 'edit'. My spelling has also been bad. Not sure why I don't look closer before pushing the 'submit'???!!! And Mara; We will consider the walking tour. Be there with our daughter and son-in-law. iris1745/dick
