Time between landing at Stansted and boarding Oxford bus?

Any idea how much time I need to allow between disembarking a Ryan Air flight into Stansted and boarding a bus to Oxford on July 12? I recently booked two non-refundable funfares through National Express that leave an hour after landing, but I've since learned of the pre-Olympic bottlenecks at UK airports. Gulp.

All depends on what time the bus leaves and what time your flight lands. And thats all assuming that your flight departs and lands on time.

I certainly would never pre book any bus ticket for a specific time. If your ticket is open then you can just get the next bus that departs

Also are you travelling into the UK from a European airport or UK one? If travelling from a UK airport then you won't have to go through passport control which will save you time.

Otherwise I normally find Stansted pretty good for getting through passport control and collecting luggage. The longest time seems to take getting from the plane to passport control especially if you have to get the shuttle train

The previous poster's experience of Stansted isn't mine. Queues for immigration can be killing, though they're usually a great deal worse for EU citizens than for others.

I really wouldn't bank on getting through in an hour - though it wouldn't be astonishing if you did. You should look carefully at National Express T&C's for airport services at http://www.nationalexpress.com/coach...euk/index.aspx

Your ticket might not be quite as unchangeable as you think

I would leave at least 2 hours to account for flight delays, long immigration queues and waiting for baggage. I've had to wait for up to an hour for luggage to get to the reclaim...

Ugh. Thanks, everyone. I'll be flying in from Faro, Portugal. The funfares claim they're not flexible, but I'm not above pleading if we miss the bus.
