Tilbury to London (Centre)

We arrive at the the cruise ship dock in Tilbury, England and are looking for the best, and most efficient method of traveling to the Shoreditch Hotel in downtown London. We are a party of four, with lots of luggage. Any suggestions?? Cab? Is there a shuttle service?

Well - the most efficient and easiest would be whatever transfer your cruise line offers.

If you mean the Day's Hotel London Shoreditch -- not what you could call 'downtown London'.

A cab will cost more than your first born child. I think there are shuttles from the International Cruise terminal to the Tilbury train station - but maybe clarify for sure the exact name of your hotel and we can help you w/ specific directions. (And do you have so much luggage you can't handle it on a train?)

There are also transfer/car services which would cost a lot but not nearly as much as a cab.

There appears to be a free shuttle to the railway station, from where it's about a 45 minutes journey to London, at Fenchurch Street station. Shoreditch is to be a fairly short taxi ride from there.

I do think you need to clarify your hotel info. I can;t find anything called the Shoreditch Hotel - although there are a couple of hotels there.

And Shoreditch certainly isn;t in central London.

Thanks to all for the comments. Just to let you know; we are staying at the Crowne Plaza Shoreditch, London E1, and have found what seems to be a reasonable transfer for 4 people (£35)from Tilbury to London. Our cruise line, Holland America was only interested in transferring us to Heatherow. Thanks again.

Did you get the hotel at a super discounted rate? It really can't be called central London and won't be all that convenient for transport/sightseeing.
