Ticks in Croatia's Plitvice Park?

I just saw a thread about ticks in Italy. I will be leaving for Croatia soon and will be visiting the Park. I never even thought about ticks being a concern at Plitvice. I'm from Florida and it is not something that I have seen. Has anyone had a problem with ticks after exploring the Park?

Sorry I can't help you with Croatia, but ticks and tickborne diseases are definitely here in Switzerland. On top of Lyme there is tick borne encephalitis.

You might want to take along some deet to be on the safe side...

Plitvice is beautiful and not very wild, its groomed and trails are mostly wood walkways.More like a very natural looking botanical garden since tourists have been going to these lakes for over 200 years. There aren't any open fields where you would be strolling around to pick up a tick. Its a series of walks around waterfalls to connecting lakes, with a cute boat that gets you from one end of the park to the other. I would be surprised to see any bugs there! Maybe a mosquito. You have some big insects in Florida though...
