Ticket consolidator? Is there anything I should know?
Hi!
I was just quoted a reasonable fare to Venice from Travel Consolidators. Are there any drawbacks I should know about if booking this way? Maggie

There are ususally lots of restrictions on consolidator tickets, so read the fine print and make sure you can live with them. I've found they are not much different than the restrictions on the lowest priced tickets issued by the airlines, so it has not been a problem for me. I always also pay for my tickets with a credit card anyway and suggest you do the same.

Hi!
You probably won't be able to earn mileage w/a consolidator ticket...

Debbie

Not true (the part about no FF miles earned) with my one experience purchasing from The Joy of Travel - - 1-888-AIR-TIXX - - and also not true, according to a quote I got yesterday from justfares.com

Warning though - - justfares.com was showing some crazy low fares last night that are not true. Some computer malfunction, I was told.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
Sorry for the double post; it seems to have occurred when I hit refresh, after efforts to read a post seem to have "frozen".
I travel on consolidator tickets several times a year. However,I normally do not change times or return and never change the routing.By the routing I mean if I am ticketed to travel from Zurich to new York, I dont try to change and get a flight out of Vienna,or wherever.I understand that "changers" pay heavily.
