Thrift or secondhand shops in Italy (not inl. flea markets)
 

I've renewed an old thread about searching for hidden goodies in Paris, but I'll be all over Italy in a few months, and am looking for secondhand or thrift shops you may have stumbled across. Of course, everyone knows about the flea markets, but I'm concerned I might not be in the right places at the right times, so I'm looking for actual shops (do they have anything like our Goodwill, Saver's, Salvation Army??). Thanks for sharing your secrets!! :)

In Milano you can find a few, in particular in the Colonne di San Lorenzo or the Navigli areas. I have never seen any other in any other city, although I guess that at least Rome must have a few too.

I doubt many Italians are keen on purchasing second hand clothes knowing their penchant for fashion (not necessarily trendy) as well as personal pride. Besides, why purchase used when brand new does not necessarily have to be expensive in Italy. To each his own.

Frank:<BR><BR>Actually not all Itlaians are fashion addicts. Acutally most Italians just buy their clothes at department stores such as Oviesse or upim. A few less buy them at mor upmarket places such as Coin department stores, only the very few who can afford it do buy &quot;fashion&quot; stuff.<BR>On the the hand, vintage clothing is getting more and more attention, at lest in the big cities such as Milano and Rome.

There are at least 3 Mercantini in Genoa and a shop in an old church near Stazione Brignole.

Forgot to mention that we also found one in Napoli on Via G. Bruno in the Mergellina area.
