Where I WOULD like to go while I'm in Paris are to some drawing or painting classes (in English, please). I tried to start a forum on it a few days ago, but it didn't take. Can anyone recommend places? I found

OK, I'm truly concerned. Have I committed some major faux pas by asking about art classes? I got such wonderful and helpful responses concerning what to wear on this forum and how to find iced tea on another, (thank you again to all), but the forum in which I asked about art classes got no response, and when I asked about them on this one, conversation ceased. Have I done something wrong? If so, I apologize profusely. Please, someone tell me what I did/said. Thank you so much, ZiaGal.

No faux pas in asking about art classes. I suspect there just aren't many people here who have taken any and have any helpful information for you. There are always plenty of people with opinions about what to wear.

Your previous thread may have sunk to the bottom quickly without being seen by anyone with the right knowledge to help you. You can top it by adding a reply and asking if anyone knows anything. Since it has been a few days since you posted it, replying will bring it to the top of the list again where it might be seen by people who missed it the first time.

This made me smile. Perhaps a bit twee but I do enjoy the darling illustrations. It seems as though sneakers are fine so long as they are paired with a tuxedo jacket. Jolie laide and all that ;-)

I don't think very many people on Fodors know about art classes in Paris. I just don't think it's something very common to find those in English in Paris, and only for a very short time. It's mainly small workshops run by Americans who may get some students for a certain week or two in order to subsidize their trip to France, something like that. I know of one Parisian school that has a July session (in English) but it's pretty serious and expensive (several thousand dollars)--the Paris American Academy. http://www.parisamericanacademy.fr

I agree with Nikki and Christina. The only art classes that came to mind for me were the ones at Parsons in Paris, for undergrads registered in their program. When I was an undergrad in Paris way back when, my junior year abroad program hooked up with individual artists to provide semester-long classes in the artists' studios. I have no idea how they found these artists, and again it was at a college-credit level. Sorry I can't be of more help!

I know exactly what you should wear and precisely all the things you should do in Paris. This would be much too long to explain. The only solution is for you to take me along with you.
