Three London questions! Please Answer! =)
I'll be in London from October 27th to November 4th so....
Question 1. How cold do you think its going to be? I'm not asking for God just a general idea. Question 2. I'm staying at Park Plaza County Hall London. Is that good? Anyone stay there before? Question 3. I ordered Fodor's London 25 Best because I really liked the Paris Version. So! While I'm waiting to check that out what are your top 25 don't miss London fodors? Gimmer your top 25! Thanks! =) I hope I get some responses! |
I can't help with your hotel or the weather, and I don't have a top 25 for London, but these are the things we really wanted to do when we were there in 2007:
Westminster Abbey verger's tour Churchill Museum/Cabinet War Rooms Greenwich - parts of the National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory British Library British Museum See a show There are tons of other things to do and see, but those were our priorities. Lee Ann |
1. About 50 degree, could be colder, warmer, probably rainy, may be sunny, may be both, who knows.
2 It is OK 3. Your serious, really expect someone to list 25 for you. |
Hm. I didn't realize typing was so hard fmpden. Its pretty easy for me
|
1)Could be anything. You will have a maximum of 5 minutes' warning of impending weather. Embrace the danger.
2) Very nice but the atrium view isn't worth the upgrade. 3) I am shortly travelling to North America. Please advise on the best 20 things. |
<Hm. I didn't realize typing was so hard fmpden. Its pretty easy for me>
It's much easier if you understand how to use the apostrophe. |
oh you got me spell check! I blush every time I use Microsoft word.

Can't answer your first two questions, except to say re: #1 that if it's wet and damp it can feel way colder than a snowy day in North America. Bring layers and mitts, and an umbrella and you'll be fine. Re: question #3, one of the reasons you may not be getting the responses you expected is because the answer is quite personal depending on your interests, budget, mobility, etc. But I'll give you a few of my favourite things to do in London, in no particular order:
- a trial at the Old Bailey - the Costume Collection at the Victoria and Albert - wander about Covent Garden - eat lunch in the Temple Gardens - attend Sunday service in the Temple Church - wander about Trafalgar Square early in the morning - wander around Leicester Square/Picaddilly after seeing a play - see as many plays as you can - a boat ride on the Thames - the John Ritblat Gallery at the British Library - pubs - my favourite is the Edgar Wallace - people-watch at Paddington or Victoria Station - the Courtauld Gallery - tour at the Globe Theatre - National Portrait Gallery - gelato at Scoop - the Queen Mother's Rose Garden in Regents Park - Underground Cabinet War Rooms |
Thank you Rick =)
