Three days in Iceland
I have 3 days in Reykjavik Iceland. What should I do?? How about some ideas on B&B's too.

Thanks

Rent a car for a day and drive out to Thingvellir and Gulfoss-- you could do it on a tour but this way your time is your own and really see the countryside. The roads are very good and the landscape is very unusual. Its one of the most amazing trips. Enjoy.

Search this newsgroup for my trip report on Iceland and Benelux (or email me if you can't find it).

I'd recommend a nighttime Blue Lagoon tour followed by a Viking Feast for one day, a day of shopping, and a full day (8 hour) Golden Circle tour.

Kevin

The most interesting things i think you could do there, are:

The golden circle: Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Thingvellir National Park. (Fantastic landscape).

The Reykjanes area is quite close to Reykjavik and has one of the wildest landscapes in Southern Iceland, you can enjoy birdwatching at the beautiful cliffs and also have a bath at the Blue Lagoon.

To make both trips you will have to rent a car, the roads are correct, some could be unpaved but Iceland is unique!
Lucky you--but three days isn't enough!! I've been to Iceland twice and would go back in a heartbeat. In addition to the above, Thor's woods for hiking is terrific, and don't avoid bus tours in this instance, as most of them are small scale and fascinating. There are flights to various geographically fascinating sites from Reykjavik Airport (in the city, not Keflavik) and you could, in fact, spend a fair amount of time in Reykjavik itself. Try Pasta Basta for great seafood pasta!
