Three Airlines to Itlay
 

Thanks to the three people who answered my post about going to Italy, I have narrowed my choices of air travel down to three airlines. Now all I need to know is which one to take. Here they are: <BR>1. Fly non-stop to London via British Airways, then take a conecting flight from Gatwick to Rome. <BR>2. Fly from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia then onto Rome via US Airways. <BR>3. Fly TWA to New York, then onto Rome. <BR> <BR>Flying British Airways seems to be best considering I will not only avoid JFK, but I will already be in Europe when I switch flights. But, TWA and US Airways have better fares to Rome. I am sure that everyone has their opinions on these airlines, but honestly, I need to know (without considering price right now), which one to go with. Thank you again!! <BR>

Hi Vince: My vote would be for BA. Recently we flew BA from the Pittsburgh to London and then later on to Athens. Both legs of the trip were most pleasant. The return trip from Rome on TWA was "looong". We're contemplating a trip to Italy ourselves this fall and hope to use BA. ....Paul J <BR>

Hi Vince: The plane was standard 747. Service and food were certainly above average. As mentioned earlier we enjoyed it very much and I'd recommend BA anytime. Enjoy yor trip....Paul J <BR>

Vince <BR> regarding your query about which airline to use when coming to europe. i have used most american <BR> carriers,and with few exceptions i have been very <BR> disappointed with them. if you were to use b.a. <BR> i think you would be pleasantly surprised. <BR> a few other carriers worth considering are k.l.m. <BR> and swissair. my comments about u.s. carriers are <BR> based in coach,but if you can spring an upgrade, <BR> they are pretty good <BR> <BR> best regards <BR> colin <BR> <BR> <BR>

Vince, I add my vote for BA.Flown them twice to Europe and once to Africa(coach each time).I found them to be actually concerned about passenger comfort.

I flew BA to London recently and it was fine. <BR>My only complaint specific to BA is that they would <BR>not do advance seat assignments but would only <BR>assign seats at the airport prior to departure. <BR>Since sitting in the middle of the row in coach is <BR>my worst nightmare, I made it my business to get to <BR>the airport even earlier than they suggested, which <BR>of course resulted in a lot of time killed at the <BR>airport.
