Three 26 year old female travelers need advice
 

Hello,
We have a week in the middle of April to visit a couple European cities before heading to Morroco. We have been to Amsterdam, London, Paris, Spain, and Italy. We want go somewhere with good night life and great sites to see during the day. Malta, Budapest, Turkey, Vienna, Holland for the tulips and Bruges have all been suggested. Does anyone have any ideas for us….Thank you in advance for your help. PS.. Do you think it would be safe at this time for 3 26 year old women to visit Turkey in April?

Some of the places you mention are much more expensive than the other places. Does that matter? Also some will be a lot colder than others. Otherwise, all of them offer what you say you are looking for (although I tend to think of Malta as attracting retirees, but maybe it rocks with nightlife for the young).

Regarding safety and Turkey, obviously some places right now are absolutely no-go areas and nothing seems to moving in the right direction. Other parts of Turkey -- in particular Istanbul -- continue to attract tourists who don't experience problems. Most people don't expect that to change.

Athens, Berlin and Lisbon might be places to consider if you haven't been. All of them offer exactly what you say you want. For your age group and interests, Antwerp has more to offer than Bruges at night, and you can easily visit Bruges during the day from Antwerp. It is also quite easy to combine Vienna and Budapest -- although Hungary is having a rather rotten political trajectory that might dampen your sense of fun.

Most people don't expect that to change, but like anyplace, you have to pay attention to the news and all tourists need to think about who might try to prey on them when they travel, whatever their age and gender. Certainly you up the risks if nightlife means lots of drinking or if you don't research ahead of time local customs and clubs and neighborhoods just as you would in your own neck of the woods to learn which ones to avoid.

You are kind of all over the place in terms of places you've suggested. Isn't there some place you want to go to because you are interested in it? turkey doesn't fit in with Morrocco very well, it's awfully far away. Have you thought about logistics?

London and Amsterdam would be fine, and of course Spain is near Morrocco. Of all those possibilities, I would not choose Malta, and never heard that Bruges was a nightlife draw. It would easily combine with Amsterdam or London, however, but I am not understanding how you intend to get to Morrocco, surely it must affect your plans (near an airport, etc.).

As far as your safety goes - you will be hassled in Morocco, a lot.

If you decide to visit Turkey, note that Istanbul alone easily merits 6 days.

From your description, Berlin and Prague are the places that came to my mind.

Agree that Berlin and Prague would both be ideal. filled with younger people, a lot of nightlife - of every type - and reasonable on costs. Plus a ot of wonderful sights (museums, castles, cathedrals, etc)

Berlin, Prague and Dublin.

Personally, I'd go to Dublin and Galway because of the music, the countryside, the pub scene and the most unusual conversations you may have ever had.

well, it depends on where you go, In Marrakesh in the main streets and the better parts of the Kasbah you will have little problem. In the international part of town you will have no problem during the day or even early night.

If you are doing the desert trips with guides then problems will be minimised.

If you end up in a back street of Casablanca at night then that might be a mistake, but I guess the same could be said for Detroit
