Thornbury Castle to Warwick Castle

Is this too far to drive for a one day tour
of Warwick Castle ? How long do you think
it would take in June ?

Thanks

If you take the fastest route up the M5 and then cutting over towards warwick it is less than 100 miles mostly on really fast roads.

I'd leave early in the a.m. and head straight to Warwick. Then after visiting the castle and wandering around the town, you can take a more leisurely route in the late afternoon back over minor roads through the Cotswolds. You should have plenty of time . . . .

Thanks - my other choice would be to go
to Warwick directly from Oxford. I believe this route would be faster and
closer.

OK - Are you staying in Oxford or at Thornbury Castle -- or both?

Warwick is a MUCH closer to Oxford - about 40 miles either by the high speed M40, or via Woodstock and Shipston-on-Stour (A44/A429) which would be slower but is a nice drive. The motorway would take you less than 40 mins unless you got stuck in traffic on the Oxford ring road at the beginning. About 1 hour, give or take, using the other route through Woodstock.

Perfect - Janis, thanks for your help!
