Thistle Charing Cross Hotel

Has anyone stayed recently at the Thistle Charing Cross hotel? Please share your opinion of the room and service. I understand the location is very central I've not seen any recent comments regarding this hotel. I have reservations in May. Thanks!!

I don't know this particular Thistle, but I can tell you that the Thistle hotels in London have an excellent reputation.

If you do a search at the top of the page I am sure you will find lots of information about this Hotel, as it has been discussed in the past.

I have not stayed there, but I had occasion to see the public spaces a few weeks ago when I had afternoon tea at the hotel's Terrace Lounge.
The public spaces are very nice, even could be called "grand" in an old-fashioned kind of way.
By the way, if you don't want a very dressy or formal afternoon tea (such as at the Dorchester or the Ritz), Ben Haines was right; this is a good place to have an afternoon tea if you don't want to change clothes while sightseeing or have it take hours. It won't pass for a meal for many people, just a large snack and a nice break.
13.75 pounds for tea, sandwiches, excellent scones, and cakes. Also an a la carte menu with other items.

Just got back from London, and loved the Thistle Charing Cross! Absolutely the best location in London IMO! Great QUIET rooms with all the amenities. I think that from now on I will try to stay here. We could walk to almost anywhere!
Good service, excellent staff.... a great place all together.
Judy :-)

While this may be a nice hotel I personally find the homeless who are always in the tube corridors at Charing Cross a real reason not to be in this area in the evening .. heck, they are in the corridors of the tube stop during the day for that matter. The hotel is perched ontop of the Charing Cross Railway Station, which is handy for getting out of London on routes from that station for sure. It's a nice location .. except for the homeless .. if you like being in the center of activity. It's VERY busy around there. It's handy to catch buses tho, in any diretion. If it were not for the homeless laying about it might be OK, that's a real big turnoff to me.
