Hello Sheila and thanks for your reply.
I am travelling to the UK from April 19th until May 6th this year in a Motorhome.
I am looking to travel to Scotland and have heard a lot about places like Edinburgh, the borders and the trossachs but havent heard much about the east coast of scotland.
I remember as a youngster watching a movie called Local hero that i beleive was made in that area and the scenery and village it was made in were very beautiful.
Is there much to see in Aberdeen and its surrounding area?
Thanks
Trip

I'll let shelia get back to you (she's the expert), but short answer YES!

The area around Aberdeen and the East Neuk are wonderful places to spend some time.

Between Fife and northen Aberdeenshire there is more than enough to fill your whole trip - but you won't have too much time after driving all the way up from Surrey.

Besides all the things in Fife - working north there is Glamis, Edzell, and then into Aberdeenshire for Dunnottar/Stoneheven, the "Castle Trail" including Crathes, Craigevar, Fraser and a LOT of others, Royal Deeside inc. Balmoral, Braemar and all the villages along the Dee, then Aberdeen of course, then the NE coast w/ Slains, Cruden Bay, the Bullers of Buchan, and finally the N coast w/ the fishing villages like Pennan.

There is a LOT more in the area - that list is just around the edges.

Sheila can give you lots of specific info (I've been to all the places I listed she will have "on the site" info)
