Things to do in Bern and Geneva Switzerland?

Can anybody advise what are the things to do in Bern, Switzerland? I have two-three hours in Geneva. How can I utilise the time? Otherwise which place should I make a base for roaming around in Switzerland - Geneva or Interlaken

I might suggest that you look through the Fodor's information on Bern, Geneva, and Switzerland, in general, and then post a more specific question here. I'm not sure anyone can advise you without knowing whether you like museums, hiking, eating, walking, etc...?

They have bear pit in Bern - for us it was a complete waste of time as we didn't see any bears there.

What is the name of the rose garden? This was beautiful! And the city is lovely, with lots of bridges, hills and views.

I don't understand what you mean you say you have "two-three hours in Geneva", then ask if it is a good "base for roaming around in Switzerland".

In three hours you can see the Cathedral, walk old town, and see the Jet d'Eau.

Enjoy!

Dear Suze, I meant to say that either we will make Interlaken as base and after landing at Geneva Airport and stay for 2-3 hours, we will move for Interlaken or alternatively, we will make Geneva as base and do the day trips to Interlaken, Bern etc.

Dear Berenjenas, As suggested by you, in three hours, we will see the Cathedral and Jet d' Eau. Please let us know how far are these from the Geneva Airport and Railway Station.
Also, Please tell from which station in Geneva, we will get the train for Interlaken.

I would instead pick Lausanne, Vevey, or Montreux as my base in the Geneva area. These are smaller towns, very pretty, right on the lake, and easily reached by train from the Geneva airport. You could still spend a couple hours in Geneva at some point.

Sorry I don't know about Interlaken to scomment on that.

Hi, this is the first time my family will be going to Switzerland. If you had a choice, between Bern and Geneva, which place would you recommend? We only have two days.
