How fortunate that we are still able to travel both age 80.
We realize we've slowed down but still able to manuever.
Just back from a Seine River cruise- LaHavre to Paris. Some remained for extra days in Paris but we were weary and glad we didn't.

This trip was our 6th with Grand Circle Travel. We've been on other trips and also quite a number of Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel) weeks. See report at http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...-the-seine.cfm
Also http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...nd-belgium.cfm for an earlier trip.

I do believe that GCT can accomodate people with some health problems or walking disabilities. A number on our ship had canes or walkers, e.g. Some of the guided tours on our trips did demand walking yet many managed. You do what you can...and we skipped some. The ship itself provides a pleasant cruise.

StCirq...my hat is off to you and your generous spirit. Carlux...we've been to S. A. and one might say what you did about many places that come to mind...wish we lived there. But then I would say that for all of us we have places of interest nearby plus our memories...and as for those distant places I have a complete journal plus pictures. A friend just back from Israel had his camera stolen, hence lost all his pictures. Lesson for him of course as was suggested is to take out the memory stick when traveling. For some though it isn't aging or health but the financing of travel that is restrictive. For those of us still able I give thanks!
