See the little box at the top of this main page that says "Text Search"? Well you might want to try that out because most of the hotels you've mentioned have been talked about dozens of times. Each of those comments can be accessed through the search function...have fun!

OK Phil, I may need your help in Kiwi land someday. You are OK except for:
Assisi--Hotel Umbra
Sorrento--Loreley or La Tonnarella
Maggiore--go to www.stresa.net and find your choice and budget. Try to avoid the Primavera if you do not like early church bells.

Sounds like a nice trip. Have fun !

Phil, I can help you about Sorrento if you tell me the period, your needs and your budget.

I am not often one to argue with Bob the Nav - - but I have stayed in BOTH Umbra and Fontebella - - and I will tell you that Umbra is NOT superior to Umbra - - in fact, they are very nearly equal. Umbra might slightly take the nod for location - - but Fontebella is great for easy car access right to the front door - - and free paring there to boot. Good restaurants at both, by the way.

Best wishes,

I've stayed at the Casci and love it... wonderful hotel, big rooms, unbeatalbe location! We stayed in the front and had no problems however if you are sensitive to noise request a garden room. I highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at two of these this September.

Florence,"Casci"--Simple, but with all the conveniences, clean, friendly, comfortable, large rooms.

Venice, "Locanda Leon Bianco" --very nice, also large, comfortable rooms, friendly as well, but try to get a room with a canal view if possible. Ours was a bit dark.
