There 's an "App" for that! How do I get to Abington Rd???
 

I need to get from Euston Station to Abington Rd. I have been told:

Euston Station on the Victoria line
Change at Green Park.
Transferr to Piccadilly line and then get off at the S. Kensington Station.


The App tells me:
15 minutes from Euston to High Street Kensington - taking 2 lines.

Start at Euston on Victoria line
Change at Victoria to the Circle line
Arrive at High Street Kensington.

Are they both correct and if so, which would be easier?

They are equally easy and, within 3 minutes or so during the day, equally fast. Pick your favorite colors or toss a coin.

Both are wrong: the nearest Abington Rd to Euston is in Royston, for which you need to walk to Kings Cross and get a train.

If you mean Abingdon Rd, W8 (there are half a dozen Abingdon Roads in London, and it really isn't very sensible to ask such a vague question), it's not much short of a mile from South Ken station. What system recommended such a truly ill-advised station to head for?

If you want the tube, then you want Kensington High St. It's still a shlep, though, and probably quicker and less hassle to come out of Euston, get on a westbound number 10 bus opposite the station and get off at the Commonwealth Institute about 20-odd mins later. This stop is ten yards from Abingdon Rd.

The tube apps are mostly crap* anyway - they invent tortuously circuitous routes for no apparant reason.

You are better off with an A-Z, or, one of the pocket maps (which are free from any tube station).

* Two exceptions - that one that shows you through the camera how far the nearest tube station is (everyone is awed into silence the first time they see that!). And the one that tells you which train carriage is going to be nearest to the exit for any given station.
