Theater ticets in Venice and Florence
Anyone ever booked theater tickets for Venice or Florence? Am going May 24 through June 6 and would like to see a show.
Thanks.... |
What kind of show? An opera? A play in Italian?
|
Opera, or almost anything. And, Italian would be great. I notice the Fenice theatre in Venice gets a lot of press. Have you ever been?

You've probably seen a lot about La Fenice because it burned down spectacularly in 1996. There has been a book "The City of Falling Angels" by John Berendt based on the fire and its aftermath, which was a best seller.
That said, I understand the reconstruction was carefully and beautifully done, and I attended two performances there before it burned down. It has a Web site that you can google for, where you can also buy tickets, but I'm not sure the season will still be on. In Florence, the Maggio Musicale should still be on. Again, google for it. |
The web site for La Fenice is www.teatrolafenice.it. I've booked opera tickets using it and then collected them in Venice.
You can also tour the opera house. The tours need to be booked ahead which can either be done at the Operar House the day before or via Hello venice at www.hellovenezia.it/en/home.php |
