The Wheels Begin to Turn...

Airfares are under $500 from my home town to Zurich May 2020 on multiple airlines ! (American, Delta and Britishair).
I most likely will go alone, so no big hikes, just low to mid-level walks or gondola ascents.
I have been eyeing Spiez. Been through many times, never stayed. This would be my 7th or 8th trip to B.O. I would like to ascend Stanserhorn on 'newish' Cabrio and to go atop Niesen.
The rest low key.
Thoughts on Spiez? I would love q little balcony with lake and mountain view.

Hi mokka4!

Not Spiez, but in about 9 days, I will be at this hotel outside of Thun:

I've also never stayed in Spiez, but I have spent a day there. I was not in love with it because the main town (and hotels, from what I could discover) were up away from the lake. At the lakeside I only saw the harbor and a few cafes.

Hope you get lots of good info!

I would better suggest to go a bit further and visit Grindelwald.

It's a very nice small village in the Alps which has that Swiss touch :) Cows, wooden houses, big hotels, a lot of restaurants and majestic mountains all around.
