The Westin Paris

Any reports on how the transition to Westin is going? Any tips on which room to ask for? View? Etc.? We're booked for 8 nights next month. How is the location? We're first time Paris visitors just trying to get up to speed on this property. Any cool cafes nearby? Walking distance to Left Bank? Marais? Thank you!

I found this on their website: "Beginning February 1, 2006, all guest rooms will be equipped with the signature Westin Heavenly Bed® and will feature Wireless High Speed Internet Access (available upon request)." We arrive March 11, 2006 - HEAVENLY BED HERE WE COME! :-)

I have also booked this hotel (through Priceline). It would be great if you could give a detailed report upon your return - give us some tips! Thanks!

We spent 8 nights at the Westin Paris last week at a Priceline rate of $170/night – GREAT deal! We enjoyed this hotel immensely. The room was very quiet – like a vault. The location is excellent, staff was very friendly, and the room was very spacious and well appointed – four stars+ all the way. Cotton bathrobes, slippers, deep soaking tub, Heavenly Bed, flat screen TV, etc., it was a very nice room. I have no complaints whatsoever. We didn’t have an exterior view, but then only half of the rooms do because of the layout. At this rate, I would highly recommend The Westin Paris! Room service was excellent, but very pricey. The neighborhood is the Parisian equivalent of Rodeo Drive and made for fun people watching and strolling about. The Paris metro and major attractions are very convenient, too. You cannot go wrong at the Westin Paris! It was a most enjoyable stay and my best Priceline bargain ever. Strongly recommended.
