The raptor experience

Hi there,

We are thinking of going to the raptor experience which is in Cong and West of Cross. What is anyone's opinion of doing this activity? We are only in Ireland for 10 days.

How about a link for those of us who have no idea what a "raptor experience" is?

If it is the School of Falconry at Ashford Castle, I highly recommend it. It was one of the high points of my and my grandsons' visit.

I have since taken two "hawk walks" but they paled in comparison with the School.

We went on a raptor experience near Edinburgh last summer and absolutely loved it. Getting up close to the birds, seeing the relationships between the falconer and the birds, getting to 'fly' the birds & touch them was amazing. We looked at the reviews on TA before we went to make sure the place we went had good reviews.

Oh, that's a relief. When I Googled "Raptor Experience" I got hits on a new feature at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, which features dinosaurs that walk around scaring people. Didn't really think they had that kind of raptor in Ireland.

:-)
