The Queensgate Hotel
 

Has anyone stayed at The Queensgate Hotel in London? Just kind of stumbled upon it online. It says it's 4 stars. It's located at 54 QUEENSGATE in Kensington. 59 pounds/night

We stayed at a couple of hotels in Europe and spent over 7 days in London alone from Dec 16, 2003 to Jan 2, 2004. The Queensgate was the last stop, and we wished we'd known it earlier.

The Queensgate is in an excellent location, especially if you have children as the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum is just across the road. It is 7 minutes from the Gloucester tube. It's contemporary in room design, with high ceiling and crispy clean white sheets.

The best part of the Hotel is the people. It has free flow coffee and tea throughout the day and it is served always with a big, wide smile. Its staff is class one...predicting your needs even before you say it. My kids have marked this as their favourite hotel of all.

We left a bag behind and Annabelle, the manager took time to go to the post office and arranged to send it back to us.

The other hotel in London during this trip was The Kensington House near High Street Kensington tube. Great breakfast, but even the deluxe rooms were so so tiny we could hardly walk around the bed, and worse of all, the staff had no presence whatever. We were made to feel that we created more work for them by staying at the hotel.

Last year, I stayed at The Berkeley and The Dorchester. Nothing beats the staff at The Queensgate.

I highly recommend The Queensgate. As for us, we will make it our home in London whenever we visit.

£59 pernight! When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I just searched on Queensgate and found a rate of £59 per person in double or twin, or £100 single.

Don't know the hotel, but I lived on that very block many years ago. The area is absolutely superb for just about everything you could imagine. And the Gloucester Road Tube has three lines, so you can get probably anywhere with no or one change. So, can't vouch for the hotel, but sure can for the area!
