The Mind of Leonardo da Vinci- Florence, Italy
 

This is on display at the Uffizi until Jan 2007. If you have seen this, would you give me your opinion? Also, some recommendations on books about Leonardo da Vinci would be appreciated. (I like to learn as much as possible before hand.)

We were in Florence in April, and I was looking forward to this exhibit.However, it seemed like the only way to get to it was as we were exiting the Uffizi, and quite honestly, by that time our senses were overloaded. The special exhibit space was dark and very crowded and it would have taken some jostling for position to see anything. We did walk through the exhibit, a series of narrow spaces with displays on each side. What we were able to glance at did not look very compelling. If you think you are interested in seeing the exhibit, I would recommend that you find out if there's a way to get into it before you are ready to exit.

It was enjoyable, not the highlight of my trip or anything, but worth passing through at least. Plus it was a nice break from all the art above (a lot of it was about art, but not just looking at it, and a lot was more science than art, but I'm a science nerd, so YMMV). It does take a bit of concentration to really get, and if it's crowded I could see it being less enjoyable (there were a number of people passing through when I was there, but not many stopping to look, so it was effectively pretty uncrowded, but that was late March).

I had the same experience as LOJO - burned out mentally at that point and too many people crammed into a maze-like space on the way to the exit - couldn't see a thing.
