The Marais
Where exactly are the boutique shops of the Marais? (What streets are they bounded by?) I once walked around the Place des Vosges but didn't see much that was quaint and charming.

The Place des Vognes is mostly restaurants, art galeries.
I think from the place de Bastille to the Hotel de Ville is where the Marais is from east to west Rue de 4 fils f from north to south at Rue de Hoel de Ville. If you walk around, the boutiques are everywhere rue des rosiers, rue des pyenne, almost everyplace has shops. |
from rue de rivoli, turn up rue du temple - as you wander up, you'll find lots of restuarants and boutiques.....
the narrow streets east of rue du temple - marais is home to the jewish and gay parts of the city.... |
We decided to stay in the Marais instead of St. Germain over much deliberation ... to go along with botiques ... are there any cobblestone, quaint streets in Marais? Or is that Montmarte (spelling)?
|
Also rue Francois Bourgeois which runs parallel to the Place des Vosges has a lot of wonderful young designer jewelry/clothing shops, as do many of the streets near the Picasso Museum.

I returned last sunday aftr staying 15 days on the rue Vielle du temple and saw so many boutiques. Big eyes and small euros :)
