The loveliest lake in Northern Italy

Which is the loveliest lake in Northern Italy to spend 2-3 days visiting? Please also give suggestions for the best way to get there from Lucerne. What should we be sure to see while there. Do you have an accommodation to recommend?

Hi L

We very much liked Lake Orta.

See my trip report Ira Returns From 22 Loverly Days in Europe - Sep, 2009

We preferred Lake Como to all the others. Trains from Switzerland to City of Como, then ferry to Bellagio or wherever you wish to stay on the lake. OUr second favorite was Lake Maggiore.

Thank you both. For ease of travel by train from SZ I'm leaning toward Como. Do you have a recommendation for a place to stay in Bellagio?
Thanks again
