The Jura, France - where to stay and best walks

We'll be spending 5 or 6 days in the Jura mountains in France in July. On our way from Beaune to Geneva. Which are the nicest towns? Where are the best logis with the most charm and character? Where do we dfind out which are best hikes and walks to do in the region. many thanks!

I'm more of a flatland walker in France, the Burgundy Canal for instance, but a quick Google search turned up this link:

http://www.juratourisme.ch/en/leisur...es/hiking.html

Click on "find out more" for a description of the hike and "additional info" for more details like distance, downloadable route profile, towns & resources along the way, etc. Looks like a great website. I wish I could come too.
