The Food and Wine of Naples and Campania
I will be travelling to Italy for 5 weeks in late October and well into November, focusing on areas south of Naples. It will be an immersion in food and culture and I have been hoping to get my hands on the book by Capalbo :The Food and Wine of Naples and Campania. It is out of print but I think still a valuable tool for the areas I will be visiting. Any one know where I can find this book at a reasonable price?

If you're coming to Ischia, you can borrow mine for the cost of posting it back afterwards!
The author was supported by the Campania region and, know their marketing skills, there are probably lots of copies still lurking in museum bookshops, tourist offices etc... but I couldn't tell you which?

Otherwise these used ones on Amazon UK are only a few pounds more than the original £14.99 cover price?

No need to apologise to me - in both regards the loss is all yours!
But if you've had no success by the time you reach Naples, then do try the Feltrinelli and other bookshops in and around the Piazza Dei Martiri... we've found them generally better than those near Piazza Bellini - where the larger tourist presence is likely to have seen any last copies snapped up by now!
And if that brings you no joy, this local f&w writer's sites have some worthwhile English articles...

... with lots more in Italian...
http://www.lucianopignataro.it/
... that may be of interest?
Very knowledgeable and committed guy, whom we met when here launching the first edition of his guide to Campania's wine producers:

Otherwise, in one language or the other, watch for a bit more action locally now that a Campanian is in charge at the Movimento Turismo del Vino...
http://www.movimentoturismovino.it/?lang=en
... where they've a few itineraries:
http://www.movimentoturismovino.it/?...tion=itinerari
(that said, those are by no means exhaustive, nor particulary up-to-date, so cross-check anything you read there!)
..............
Picking up from your post in the other thread...
After the All Souls / Saint's holiday, things do get quieter in most of the area's coastal towns and villages. One thing to watch out for, on November 6th usually, is the arrival of...

Some years a big fuss is made of it, others almost none... but, with the weather we've had, perhaps there'll not be the grapes to spare to make much?
These people, in Campania's Benevento province, are the only local producer I've noticed...
http://www.agricolaforesta.it/eng/home.html
... but it's one of few 'calendar' dates that winebars etc have as their own!
(In passing, our recent visit to Benevento showed it to be a fine place to spend a weekend, in case you get bored with the coast?)
Perhaps getting a little late, on 15th November, the wine tourism movement have been running "San Martino in Cantina" - to celebrate that new wine, all of autumn's food treats, and that saint.... whose festa day usually brings a brief spell of what the British would call 'Indian summer'.

That's the most recent version I can see in English, but in Italian from 2011...

Wow, so much to consider Peter. I could spend the entire morning on my day off browsing. I would rather be travelling to Italy in the Spring but this time around I am taking what I can get. Italy even in November will be amazing. Ischia is too large to discover in one afternoon. Next time! Thank you for all of the information.

Let us know how your trip turns out....I'd be very eager to hear about it.
One of the wines I liked best from my recent trip to the area is the Fiano di Avelino "Radichi" from Mastroberardino.
