the easiest way to go between Park Lane and Mayfair?

We need to switch hotels due to availability.

Specifically we need to switch from Grosvernor House on Park Lane to Holiday Inn Mayfair during our 4 days in London (2 days at each hotel).

We would have only one roll-aboard with less than 20KG with us. Should we try the tube or simply to take a cab? I imagine a cab might be a better approach as the distance between these 2 hotels seems quite short so a cab should not be too expensive.

Walk. Along Mount St to Berkeley Sq, then Berkeley St is the southern continuation of the eastern side ofthe square.

Any other option, unless you're disabled, those cases are extraordinarily cumbersome, or there's a plague of locusts, would be truly bizarre.

I once worked in the square, and had a colleague who did once get a cab to the Grosvenor House. The story about what an indolent old hasbeen he'd obviously become stayed with him till he got downsized.

PS: if there is a plague of locusts, get a cab.

It's one of the effects of global warming. We now have locusts. They're ok, even make a nutritious snack, but just don't get caught in a swarm.

Walk. It is actually farther from the Grosvenor House to Hyde Park Corner tube station than it is to the HI Mayfair. If you took the tube you'd just go one stop and then walk to the hotel so it would take you longer than just walking straight there. And walking would be easier because you wouldn't have to go up/down stairs/escalators.

Unless it was pouring down rain (or flanner's plague of locusts was swarming -- don't worry no locusts . . .) - then I would take a taxi.

The walk will take you maybe 10 minutes, and it's pleasant.

4 days isn't that long, and it seems like a change in the middle would be pretty inconvenient. Any chance of just staying at the HI Mayfair for the whole 4 days? We have stayed there twice and it is a nice hotel in a good location. The tube couldn't be closer, and there are good dining options nearby.

At any rate, ask for a renovated room at the Holiday Inn. Not all have been finished yet.

Thank you guys - I think we would walk unless bad weather or Locusts.

Alas, we did not plan on changing hotel, but MR did not have reward nights for the whole duration, or put it this way, they only offer Anytime reward for the remaining 2 days and it jumps the pt requirement by 50%!

We originally booked the CP St.James for the remainder but after researching, especially read about your posts regarding the CP and HI Mayfair, we gave up the non-smoking room at CP and switched to HI Mayfair, smoking room, in the hope that non-smoking room may become available. It did not happen, so far. We have the highest tier at PC, and hope to manage getting a non-smoking room at check-in, finger-crossed.

With numerous one-way street, it would be probably faster to walk than catching a cab. Absolutely don't bother with tube.
