The Dreaded Continental 757-200

The found a reasonable fare to Edinburgh on Continental but have heard bad things about the their 757-200. According to Seat Guru, it is on the small side. The fare is hundreds less than other airlines but with my bad back and hubbies long legs - is the difference in fare worth it??

Yes. You're going to be uncomfortable in any and all coach seats (I certainly am), so there's no point in paying more if you needn't.

It's the plane that's small. Pitch is 31 inches, which is pretty normal for wedging people into cattle class. Width is 17.2 inches -- some airlines have 17.5 in international coach, but some have 17, and personally I would worry more about price than about 3/10 inch.

Thanks for the advice - if I'm really good, I bet I could loose that 3/10" by May!

I just learned something from another flight that means you may want to lose one whole inch! American's 777 economy seats are 18.2" wide. Don't know whether that's an option for you, but it's wider than the norm.

"from another thread" not "flight"

It's been a long day.

Thanks KT - I'm hopping on the treadmill as we speak! I think I'm stuck with Continental - lowest fares and fairly direct flight. After a few drinks, I'm sure all will be fine:)
